The Commonwealth Local Government Conference 2007 was held at the Aotea Centre, Auckland, New Zealand from 26-29 March 2007. More than 500 delegates from 50 countries attended this three-day event on strengthening local leadership to promote sustainable economic, social and environmental development.

Bahamas wins bid for 2009 Commonwealth Local Government Conference

The Bahamas has won the bid to host the next Commonwealth Local Governmnnt Conference in 2009. It will be the first time the conference has been held in the Caribbean region.

The consference will be held in Freeport, Grand Bahama .which has three local councils covering the island.

CLGF's main website will have further details about the conference and how to book later in 2007.
