New Zealand’s Minister for Local Government, Hon Mark Burton is encouraging local governments in New Zealand and throughout the Commonwealth to participate in the Commonwealth Local Government Conference 2007.
“It is a real tribute to the quality of local government in New Zealand that we have the opportunity to host the 2007 Commonwealth Local Government Conference, at Auckland's Aotea Centre, “ he said speaking at the Local Government New Zealand Annual conference in July 2006.
“I encourage you to reflect on how far the sector has come in recent years and on the possibilities the conference will offer for learning and sharing with our Commonwealth counterparts. I encourage your active participation in this prestigious international forum.”
Hon Minister Burton is a Board member and vice-chair of the Commonwealth Local government Forum which runs the conference. |
